Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing has long desired to create perfume for the house. The dream has finally come true with Les Éternels de Balmain, which includes eight fragrances.
At the start, held online via a digital roundtable, Rousteing's penchant for fragrance dates back to his youth: "Mr. Pierre Balmain invented the greatest and most iconic perfumes of all time," stated Rousteing, noting that even he is always attempting to reiterate the spirit of the house with one eye on the world. It was his final part of Balmain's legacy, which he hadn't yet developed.
As Rousteing himself says, "After 13 years at Balmain, I can honestly say that we have achieved something truly special—a renaissance of one of the great maisons in luxury," and adding further reference to today's crisis-hit market, balancing lights and Chanelling full forces Of course, today this is among the most popular houses on histograms in the human-burgeoning world. We will as well assure a strict respect of the brand and bring this house to achieve its full potential in becoming again one of the undisputed leaders amongst luxury Maisons," said Balmain CEO Matteo Sgarbossa, according.
"His visionary, coupled with Rousteing's process, was a blessing," echoed Jesel.
"Him and the team really got it; they really understood what we want in this house," said Rousteing. But at the same time, quality and luxury were things we wanted to bring with us on this journey.
The creative has long been outspoken on diversity and inclusivity, at a time when few would speak out about these issues. The battle is not finished, Rousteing remarked. "What we are producing with charm actually is truly an appreciation of diversity".
"While I was born here, Mr. Pierre Balmain passed away, but we were really passionate about fighting for the world he wanted," said Rousteing. Each of them is a well-built story.
